Birthday Poem

If you squish a caterpillar
In your hands, 'twill surely die.
Ripping off a butterfly's wings
It will live, but never fly.

I believed all the illusions
That you fed me on and on
And I loved all your confusions
Which have made me feel so torn.

Yet I proved that it can happen,
But again your fear triumphed
And still leads you in the garden
Of the people you will hurt.

You don't have to fake your smilies
It's not working anymore
You don't owe me any favor
If it's nothing in the core.

And I leave a gift for you now
It's my broken pair of wings.
Maybe they can help you flying
In the journey of your dreams.
